    HISTORY
İsmailağa Mosque, located on Manyasızâde Street in Çarşamba, H.1136/M.1723, was built by Şeyhülislam İsmail Efendi (Rahmetullahi Te'âlâ Aleyhimâ), son of Alaiyeli İbrahim Efendi, one of the Rumelian judges, in his own name and as a fevkani instead of his own house.

    Architectural Structure of İsmailağa Mosque
The mosque is masonry and domed, as one of the examples of the transition to the baroque style of the Ottoman architecture of the Tulip Era. There are three smaller domes on both sides of the main dome, and there are two marble altars carved into the wall on both sides. It was made according to the measurements of the Kaaba in terms of width, length and height. It was destroyed in the great earthquake that took place in Istanbul in 1894 and its minaret was destroyed.

The Destroyed and Abandoned Periods of the Mosque
Many scholars and righteous people came from the mosque and madrasah, which was in operation until 1922. With the closure of dervish lodges and madrasas following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, İsmailağa Mosque and madrasah became derelict and neglected. It is rumored that the mosque and its surroundings became the dwellings of coppersmiths and tinsmiths during this period and were used as barns for a while.

The Spiritual Sign Initiating the Repair and Renovation of the Mosque
Şerif Ağabey, the eldest son of His Excellency Ali Haydar Efendi (Kuddise Sirruhû), the Sheikh of our Master, had a dream. In the dream he saw, an arm pointing to the İsmailağa Mosque reaches out from the cemetery where the tomb of İsmail Efendi (Rahmetullâhi Te'ala Aleyh), the founder of the Mosque, is located, and says: "What Stops! Why Doesn't He Fix This Mosque?" When the dream is told to His Excellency Ali Haydar Efendi (Kuddise Sirruhû), they order the mosque to be repaired, and they spend the gold gifted to them by the Heavenly place Abdulhamid Han (Rahmetullahi Te'ala Aleyh) for the repair of the mosque. The renovation period ends in 1952 and Mahmud Efendi (Kuddise Sirruhû), who has just completed his military service, begins to become an imam in 1954 by the order of Ali Haydar Ahıskavî (Kuddise Sirruhû).
