    Preface:

Arabic is a member of the Semitic language family, which has existed for centuries, is still alive and is the most widely used. It still successfully continues its centuries-long carrier by preserving its quality as the most important of the three major languages of a culture dominated by Islam.

Language is a living element and, like all living things, it is in a change. The Arabic language has not been an exception to this generalization and has changed constantly. Countless translations have been made from classical texts to our language, which is a member of the same culture, and the translation of modern texts has emerged as an undeniable need in time. It aims to help them overcome the difficulties they encounter while decoding texts in newspapers, magazines, etc.

This study is based on H. Wehr's A dictionary of Modern Written Arabic (1961), although it also refers to secondary sources, some bilingual and some monolingual, our secondary sources are as follows: Macma' al-lüket al -arabiyya, Lisan al-arab, ibn Manzûr, Muhît al-muhît, Butrus al-Bustani and their musannifs, other less referenced reference books, either eastern or western.

It should be accepted that it is not easy to choose the appropriate items in a dictionary of a rich language such as Arabic, the main criterion that determines our preferences is that the words belong to the living fluent Arabic (the words belonging to the dialects that we can encounter in the written language due to the prevalence of their use are also included in our dictionary. ). The most important, distinguishing features of the dictionary are:

1-The meaning expansions of the words are given, for example: the meaning of "phenomenon, phenomenon" that the word acquired later is stated.

2- It has been tried to find the most appropriate equivalent in Turkish for idioms and proverbs, and to preserve analogy and linguistic taste.

3- Extremely important in Arabic syntax; verbs, nouns and adjectives, as well as the literals used together, are carefully indicated.

4-The responses are given in a fluency that conforms to the Turkish syntax and does not separate the applicant from the integrity.

5- The common or local equivalents of plant names among the people have been tried to be given as much as possible.

I am grateful to those who contributed to the creation of this work. Success is from Allah. ( Arabic Turkish Dictionary , Dağarcık Publications , Serdar Mutçalı , arabic turkish dictionary serdar mutçalı , ğarcık arabic dictionary )
