PREFACE
"Mischief (and defeat) has appeared on the land and in the sea because of the (bad) things (bad luck) that the hands of the people (themselves) have gained.
That He (Allah Almighty) may make them taste some of the (evil) things (before the punishment of all of them is given in the hereafter) that they have done (in the hereafter). (Thus) it may be that they will return (from their sins). "(Ar-Rûm SuraAl)
In a hadith narrated by Abdullâh ibni Ömer (Radıyallâhu Ta'ala AnhümâjduTi), our Prophet (pbuh) said:

"When prostitution (adultery) emerges in a nation and that nation has committed it publicly, the disease of the nature (plague) and pains (diseases) that have not been seen in their past will spread."
