    prologue

In the name of Allah, He is all-Merciful, all-bountiful...
    Praise be to Mawlaya,
    Greetings to Muhammad Mustafa
The translation and introduction of the main sources and basic works that are effective in the formation of national feeling, belief and way of thinking, thus embodying the national structure and character, to new generations, is of great importance from the point of view of our history of ideas and beliefs, as well as from the point of view of the current structure of thought and belief of the society in which we live. Those who want to recognize the belief, thinking and attitude style of their nation, its structure as a social entity, the main qualities, characteristics and manifestations of this structure, should carefully study the classical works that have been influential for many centuries in the formation of the national structure. In order to meet this requirement and October in addition to the previous works, we have translated the Risale of Kuşeyri, the Taarruf of Kelabazi and the Discovery of Al-Mahjub of Hujviri. In order to show the status of the Sufi current in Islamic teachings and sciences, its impact on Islamic society and thought, we have also translated ibn Khaldun's Shifau's-Sail, a serious criticism and general assessment of Islamic sufism.
The mentioned works of Kelabazi, Kuşeyri and Hujviri are the Hijri 6 / ad 12 of Sunni sufism. it gives a complete and accurate idea of its course up to the century. These books are the main works and the main sources for following the course and development style of Sunni Sufism for the first five centuries. The sufism described in Serrajam al-Luma, Abu Talib Makki's Qutb al-Kulub and Gazzali's Ihyau Ulumi'd-Din is the exact same sufism expressed in the mentioned works. However, the mentioned authors preferred to use as cautious a language as possible to show that the Sufi current, which was newly structured at that time, did not contradict the external sciences and did not contradict the provisions of Sharia, thus eliminating the timidity and timidity seen in religious individuals and groups in the face of Sufism, which is a new movement, to eliminate dissent by softening reactions, and they found it appropriate to act cautiously. As such, they explained sufi insights in veiled and rather blurred expressions. This too
it was already leading to a difficult understanding of mystical beliefs and sufi issues that were not easy to understand. However, the issues described in the books with Deceptive expressions were clearly discussed among the Sufis. The violent reaction of the people of zahir and the people of Sharia to Sufism during the time of Attar was quite high
because of this, sufi insights and issues had the opportunity to be revealed more clearly. Attar has done this in my explanations of Marriage and has provided me with better and more accurate understanding by expressing the previously existing sufi insights more clearly. This Sufi understanding, which was formed in my Marriage Instructions, continued to develop and develop in the Mevlana and subsequent sufis, and took on all kinds of expressions, preserving its essence exactly.
The understanding of Sufism in my explanations is not abstract, theoretical and philosophical, but it is also not formalistic, rational, occult and nasci; it is as concrete and free as possible. E; Although the mystical way of feeling and thinking in my descriptions has come quite close to pantheism, it has never turned into it, it has always maintained its simplicity, clarity, comprehensibility and charm. Because of these qualities, Sufism has been received, adopted, loved, lived and kept alive with great interest by the vast masses of people in my Marriage, especially by the members of the sect, most of whom are illiterate. The Turkish tribes living in the vast lands stretching from China to the Adriatic coast have studied and learned the understanding of Sufism in my Marriage Certificates both from the original and from translations into Uyghur and Anatolian Turkish. It is possible to find most of the insights in the poetry and prose works written in Turkish exactly in my Marriage Certificates. The sufi and moral information in my Marriage certificates is usually expressed in legends and in a proper way. Therefore, the Marriage Certificates are richer than all the works mentioned above in terms of menkib. Even in later centuries, the book of tabakat and Sufism, which contains so many legends, was not written. In this respect, he is superior to the Ravzu'r-Rayahin of Yafi'i.
There is a great love for people, a deep religious tolerance that does not take into account the difference between race and faith in my marriage. Leaving aside the different manifestations shown by humanity, an emphasis has been persistently placed on the essence and substance that are one and the same in all people. In short, seventy-two-and-a-half nations were looked at with the same eye.
Marriage Certificates are a kind of encyclopedia of sufi and moral information. Almost all the issues of Islamic sufism and Sufi morality have been put forward in a clear language and in a precise form with many repetitions. It will be very appropriate to rely on the information in my Marriage Certificates in the research and evaluations to be carried out.
As far as I know, there is no complete translation of the Marriage Certificates in any language. I consider it a blessing for Hakk Teala to grant us a complete translation of this important work, which is very closely related to our national culture and religious life, I am pleased with it, and I ask the almighty to make it successful in the work we will do to add new works to this series in gratitude for it.
