    PREFACE

    Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
    My dear readers!
“Shams-ul Maarif” is a great treasure of knowledge written by the great religious scholar and Islamic mystic Imam Ahmed bin Ali al-Buni, who died in 622, about 800 years ago. It would be more correct to call it a "Treasure", not a treasure.
Because the book prepared on the basis of the meanings of the verses in the Qur'an, the words of any language are not sufficient to fully understand the meanings of the verses conveyed by God's eternal source of knowledge. The writer Ahmed El Buni, by adding his mystical knowledge and thoughts, tried to explain the meanings of the verses he tried to decipher as much as possible and was quite successful.
There are two aspects of Allah's proclamations: One is external and the other is internal. For this reason, those who wanted to translate the Qur'an into Turkish were not able to do so, they were content with only writing the translations of the verses. In other words, they could not translate the Quran completely, but they could only interpret the verses.
Besides the vocabulary of Allah Almighty, the words of the languages spoken in the world are not even a drop next to an ocean. As a matter of fact, Allah's word knowledge is not enough to write the number of Allah's vocabulary, even if ink was made by adding seven times more to all seas, and even if all trees and plants were pens. it is said.
Allah Ta'ala created only 28 letters for people to acquire knowledge, and sent them to Hz. It was revealed to Adam (a.s.).
For each of these 28 letters, volumes of books have been written and the letters have been turned into a science. These 28 letters occupy nearly a hundred pages of this book with their features.
We called this book the Knowledge Treasure, not the Knowledge Treasure. Yes, this book is a treasure trove of knowledge. Because, while handling the subjects, apart from its outward aspect, the author dealt with its esoteric meaning and tried to explain it. A research based on the human mind, imagination and logic has also revealed the existence of the possibility of thinking.
He touched upon such deep meanings and notions, especially in matters that speak of the attributes of the beautiful names of Allah (c.c.), that the more a person thinks about the meanings put forward on each of those names and wanders around in imagination, the more he goes deeper, and then he realizes that Allah Almighty It is infinite in terms of its 'source of knowledge and words'. It is far beyond our reason and imagination, outside of our needs.
This is why it is agreed that the Qur'an is the absolute and absolute word of God. This can never be doubted. In addition to the apparent meanings of the verses, esoteric thought carries such a depth that the human mind or human imagination can never reach it.
As I said above, our holy book, the Qur'an, cannot be translated for this. However, it is translated.
For all these reasons, it took me five months to translate this book, which was written based on the verses of the Qur'an. However, I doubt that I did the book justice in this translation. There are several reasons for this:
First; In addition to the vocabulary of the Almighty, the author's knowledge is insufficient, Secondly; The author is a deep Islamic mystic and scholar. In this respect, since the verses, which are the main subject of the book, are based on the texts, it is easier to understand and write the meanings and notions that these verses may indicate as the esoteric, and to take them into the book in the old language. Thirdly, this book was written 800 years ago in Arabic, which had a rich vocabulary of more than 30 thousand at that time, and today many words have been removed from use, even from the dictionary, even in their own language.
Fourth; In addition to the fact that Arabic is a very rich language even today, our Turkish is very barren and inadequate, and most of the words remain unanswered.
Despite all these difficulties, I tried to translate the book into Turkish in a language that everyone could read and understand. In addition to this effort, of course, I will have some shortcomings and flaws. I hope that these will be received with tolerance by my dear readers.
And I repeat again that this book is a treasure of knowledge and as dear readers get married, that is, as they read, they will reach treasures from their depths.
Apart from that, this book gives us strength to overcome many difficulties in our lives and opportunities to be closer to Allah Almighty.
In summary, I can say that this book is a guide to a happy life for both the world and the hereafter. It is written in a style that can be read with pleasure.
It is a unique and very valuable work in that it gives a divine power and power that will lead people to contemplation with pleasure, to the oneness and infinite might of Allah Almighty, and to make them believe. This power is manifested in the spiritual personality of the author.
We find that it was written with the mystical mentality of the period in which it was written.
Imam Ahmed El Buni, a contemporary of Jafar-i Sadik, one of the great mystics of Islam, has an immortal reputation in Islamic history and Islamic literature with his many valuable works. We wish Allah's mercy on him and all Islamic scholars.
While presenting our book, I would like to remind one more point:
You know that in our religion, witchcraft and sorcery are merdudi, that is, rejected and prohibited. But Havas in our book is not about that.
The prayers and vefks in our book were written by the Prophets and Islamic saints. Making use of them whenever necessary and making a request from Allah (c.c.) personally, without the need for any intermediary, is also in accordance with Allah's orders. Because Allah Almighty says:
“My servants! Ask me to give it."
He is the owner of endless generosity, grace and grace. He always responds to his servant for every legitimate request.
"Ve Hüve ala kulli shey'in omnipotence" Allah is omnipotent.
Good luck to all my readers.
