  • TEZKİRETÜL EVLİYA
    To our readers;

    "Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ" is a non-poem by the famous Sufi-poet Ferîdüddîn Attâr who lived in Nishapur, Iran between 513 / 1119-617 / 1220; It is his only work written prose. Ferîdüddîn Attâr is an author whose works have been read with pleasure in our country since the era of the Anatolian Seljuks. His works "Esrâr-nâme", "Muhtâr-nâme", "Musibet-name", "İlâhî-nâme", "Pend-name", "Mantı- ku't-Tayr" and "Tezkiretü 'I-Evliyâ", various It has now been translated into Turkish. The most famous monuments in Turkey is the last three. "Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ" was also translated into French in 1889 and into English in 1966.

    Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ, which tells about the lives of the friends of Allah in the style of legend, advice, moral advice and shares from the parable, has four different phrases, including the one belonging to Sinan Pasha. However, the translations of this work, which is very popular with Turkish readers, have become completely anonymous over time by being shared with the public. This translation in your hand has been copied exactly from an original copy by Merhûm Ramazanoğlu Mahmud Sâmî -kaddesallahu sirrahu'l-âli. Since we find the language of this translation, which resembles the Anatolian Turkish of the Fifteenth Century and was recited by the deceased Ustâz in conversations and recommended to be read in conversations, we found the language very close to today's language, so we tried to preserve the style exactly without simplifying it. We counted on showing the equivalents of some words that are not used only in modern Turkish as footnotes.

    TEZKİRETÜL EVLİYA
    At the end of this work, which we published in reference to the memoirs of the deceased, we put a photocopy of a page from his handwritten notebook. Mercy for mercy, obedience to the religion of Allah, and indeed our prayer.

    Ferîdüddîn Hâce Attâr -kuddise sirruh- this-walks:

    "There is no better word than the words of the Prophet-i Qur'an-ı Azîmiş-şân and the hadiths of Hazret-i Muhammed Mustafa-sallallâhu ta'ala alayhi and wa sallam- than the words of mayayh and evliya-yi izâm-Kaddesallâhu esrârahum." It is derînî and ilm-i ledünni, not kesbî, but these are verese-i enbiyâ, mukarrebân-ı dâdah-ı kibriya.

    Whoever hears the words of Erenler will have a heart. He understands his identity. Satan takes his delusions, worldly ambition and affection out of his heart. Some of the saints are Hazrat-i and Acirc; some are titled as dem, some are Hazret-i İbrâhim, some are Hazret-i Mûsâ, some are the titles of Hazret-i Isâ, and some are Hazret-i Muhammed, -salevât'ullâhi Exaltation and Selamühü. Alayhim ecmâin- Many of the Meşâyih-i izâm are people of ma'rifet. Many of them are conversationalists. Some of them are people of muhamul, some of them are tawhid and some of them are biblicals, they do not come to annoyance. "
