    Preface

It is a duty for Muslims to have knowledge of everything. Information about religion holds the most important place by taking the name ilmihal (information required according to everyone's situation). It is a debt that every Muslim has sufficient knowledge of the Religion of Islam to which he is affiliated. With the information he has acquired, he will have fulfilled his religious duties.
In fact, no one can stay away from religion and knowledge of religion, which is in the spiritual spirit of all mankind. From a long time ago, whether primitive or spiritual societies, none of them were able to get out of adhering to a religion.
The true happiness and happiness of men is revealed through a divine religion. The souls and consciences of those who are prudent are freed from restlessness by such a religion. The high purpose of the creation of mankind is only achieved by embracing such a divine religion.
If so, how can a person with a awake soul, a clean conscience, stay away from such a true religion? How can a person who wants to protect his own self, future and happiness be unaware of the sense of learning and practicing that such a great religion is in need of beliefs, cleanliness, worship, law and haram, morality.
How can one be inattentive because of the desire to learn some information about the life, rise, spread, and glorious history of civilization of that blessed religion?
There is no doubt that vigilant individuals and societies that do not lose their seles have heard of this need in their souls. They deemed it necessary to search for religious artifacts, to find them and to read them.
Numerous religious works have been written by religious scholars every century due to the incliation and spiritual needs of the people in their creation. However, it is also very necessary to show an innovation in such works according to the situation and ability of each era and neighborhood, to write religious issues in a way that everyone can understand in a way that does not change meanings and spirits, and to reveal some of their wisdom and benefits in plain language.
The provisions covered by Islam are divided into four parts in principle:
    1-Provisions of the faith,
    2-Provisions of worship and deeds,
3- Provisions of what is forbidden, and of the holy and the holy,
    4-Moral provisions.
As well as writing very large and valuable books on these four parts of the provisions, the books that are easy to understand in summary are overwritten and noted. The truth is that each of these four parts has a book written on them separately; however, the books that put these four parts together remained in the minority.
We can't really stay away from detailed works. However, not everyone can afford to read such extensive works and choose and separate the necessary issues from them. Their duties and time are not conducive to this. Very short works are not enough to meet the need, they cannot meet the purpose. Moreover, if the expression of these works is heavy, it becomes very difficult to obtain the desired information.
Many people have asked me to write a book of "Knowledge" that can adequately meet the religious needs of our brothers and sisters of religion, which is devoted to various tasks and services. So I made it my duty to write a rather large book of "Knowledge", which consisted of ten books on the faith, cleanliness, worship, devotion and rationing (what is beautiful), the provisions of morality, and the lives of some great prophets and the history of Islam. I began to fulfill this task by asking god almighty for help. I've applied to our most reliable, precious religious books. Try to prepare the prayers longer and I'm not. I called this work "The Great Islamic Scholar", which was created and noted with the help and blessing of almighty God, who was abundant in offerings and blessings.
If this work serves to benefit my brothers and sisters, I consider myself fortunate to have won their good prayers. It would not be a great reward for a helpless writer who wants to gain the consent of His Holiness Hak Tealâ alone with all his writings and works. Success is from the almighty God...

Omer Nasuhî BILMEN of Erzurum from Fatih Dersam
    Present

I worked in the entourage of our late teacher Omer Nasuhi Bilin for about six years during the time of the Istanbul Mufti before retiring from his post as Head of Religious Affairs. I commence the Almighty God for having the honor of getting to know his knowledge and virtue and his moral superiority.
His works have not fallen out of the hands of readers for years, and because of the high level of his knowledge and virtue, there seems to be no one among Muslims who do not know him. Every work he leaves is a reliable, very valuable book based on the belief of the people of circumcision. A hadith-i-sharif said, "One of the alms that flows after death is a knowledge that is taken advantage of." In this respect, our deceased teacher has achieved this great spiritual reward with many of his works. May God bless us with such speed and note, which is in accordance with his consent.
The language in the era when our Reverend Teacher was raised was gaining value mostly in terms of the multiplicity of Ottoman idioms. Under the influence of this, the expression in his works was not facilitated in a way that today's generation can understand, so the simplification of his work "The Great Islamic Science" as much as it could, without actually making any changes, was requested from me by the officials of The Press and Publishing House.
Accepting such a work was a duty that should be fulfilled in terms of providing convenience to readers as well as an honor for me.
I tried to simplify it by sticking to the text and meaning as much as I could and translate it into a language that is easily understood by today's generations.
I ask His Holiness Vacip Tealâ to provide spiritual benefits to Muslims and conveniences to those who read them, and I pray that my imperfections are forgiven.
